Have you registered for fall 2008 classes? If you have not and plan to be here in the fall, we encourage you to register today. (Before the new freshmen enroll in early June.)
Fox offers the best value in higher education in this state! It's downright silly to spend more money than is necessary for anything less than what you can get right here. If you have to leave, do so. We want you to transfer ... after you have spent as much time here as you can!
UW System statistics show that the longer a student stays at Fox the better they do after transfer.

The Coming Crisis
Have you seen this???? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O68MX-86hOk&NR=1 Europe has been living with high fuel prices forever. It looks like we might be on the cusp of a real crisis that could change our lives.
Smoking Students!
It really almost breaks my heart to see students voluntarily inhaling known carcinogens. My dad died when I was 6 and he was 53, and I am certain this was attributable to cigarette smoking. These things have to have among the most addictive substance known to humans. It's too bad tobacco was not made illegal with all the other drugs that people worry about. Wisconsin cannot become "smoke free" fast enough for me.

Parking lot break-ins
People can do the dumbest things, like leaving expensive things on the seats of their cars. Thieves make a regular circuit out of big parking lots doing smash and grabs. Then the victims come to us as though it was our fault and we "should do something about it." Do something proactive -- don't be stupid. (I'm purposefully being in your face on this one. Are not blogs supposed to reflect the highly opinionated thoughts? And if this got your attention, well, good!)

Aaron Bohrod Gallery
The Aaron Bohrod Fine Arts Gallery will be moving into a new gallery space in the Communication Arst Center once the CAC opens in fall of 2009. A campus committee is talking about what we should do with the existing gallery. What would you like to see this space used for and why do you think this use would improve student life at UWFox?
I'm sort of thinking it would be a nice public meeting space.

Future for Fox Students
65% of Fox students are "traditional age" which means "pretty young." I recall not having any idea what I would become when I grew up. But this campus can really start people on their way to success -- people like Judge Nancy Krueger who was a Fox student and who had a resounding victory in yesterday's election. Congratulations, Judge Krueger! Our starts at the "two-year" campuses worked for both Judge Krueger and me. Can for current Fox students too.
